Mapoint 2004 Importing from Excel - how to sort - please hel

When importing data from EXCEL it creates pushpins. When adding pushpins as stops, how do you ensure they are added in a specific order. I have drop numbers that we keep in our database and this data is exported to excel my data is sorted by drop, however this data gets set up in mapoint(add pushpins as stops) in its own way but it is consistent. Please help.

Thanks Mark

Hi,

I dont know if mappoint.exe uses any sort criteria. A solution could be using the ocx in Excell itself if you know some VBA. Then you have control over all.

importing data from EXCEL

the data is sorted in excel correctly. What I need is mappoint to keep it in that order.

Thanks

In my opinion you need to switch over to MS Access for full conrol of routing and pin placement.

Mappoint adds pushpins on the map from left to right.

you can add them as way points using a loop in th excel vba routine or in ACCESs. Also that way you can control the ouput format. There are some codes available in the forums.

hope that helps.
