(August 4, 2009) – Maponics, which counts Google ®, Trulia ®, infoUSA ®, Yellow Book USA ® and Citysearch ® among its map data clients, unveiled a major enhancement to its neighborhood boundaries database today: the industry’s first Neighborhood Classification Schema ™. With it, all companies using Maponics Neighborhood Boundaries ™ for interactive search and mapping, or internal analytics, will have access to important neighborhood zoning and social use information, allowing them to selectively filter for neighborhoods with profiles that best match searcher intentions.

Likewise, a website with an urban focus can offer search results solely for those neighborhoods that fall within the “downtown area” of major cities.
