    Mapping Seismological Information

I need to map information about Earthquakes (I have geographic coordinates of each Earthquake) to the Word counter map. May I use the MapPoint control to make this action.

    Re: Mapping Seismological Information

I'm not sure what you mean by "Word counter map".

MapPoint can be used to map earthquake data. One of my examples for GridImp uses USGS Earthquake Hazard data. You can also plot point locations (and energies) - somewhere on this site is an example that I created for the Banda Aceh aftershock sequence (aka the Boxing Day Earthquake in Indonesia). This illustrates the fault plane that slipped very well. I think I also did some examples for California.

If you were cunning you could create a set of focal mechanism icons and use these to plot fault orientations. Accuracy would be limited to 10deg or so (say) but it would still be a useful map.
