MapPoint 2002 with ASP (vbscript)

I am in the process of creating a Mappoint application with ASP to run on a local intranet. I am using Visual InterDev. I have referenced the Mappoint object library, but when I create my application object and run the app, it runs for a long time and then times out without creating the object. Has anyone else used mappoint with ASP? Is this even possible? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't tried to use it with ASP but I will try to help. Is mappoint installed on the asp server? Is the idea to collect some data from the user and then create a map and save as html to be displayed as part of a ASP page? Not an ASP programmer so bare with me. Can you do a goto on error and get the err.number or err.discription?? If you still haven't got it to work give us an update on what you've done to troubbleshoot so far.

I'm trying something similar. Check out my question here
http://www.mp2kmag.com/mappoint/disc...&highlight=asp

I get this error message:

"MapPoint North America can't run because it is not registered on your system, or it can't be found. Install MapPoint North America and try again."

Answer

It's because the EULA licence runs a question in background.
You first have to create a user on the server who runs Mappoint then accept the licence.

In your code, you have to use an Usermanager OCX and create the object as the user mention before and the revert to IUSER_XXXX.

It WORKS!

Re: Answer

Hi Francis,

Can you please describe it in a little more detail? Where can I get the Usermanager OCX and how to use it? What kind of user I need to create, a power user? Can your program run your Mappoint application (e.g exe) on a remote server, instead of localhost?

Thanks a lot!

Tom
