Hi all, in Mappoint 2004 there is a bug on Trip calculation. I waited mappoint 2006 hopefully that this bug can be resolved but nothing.

This is step to reproduce:

Open mappoint europe 2004-2006:
start a trip on:
Bra, Piedmont, Italy

end trip on
Acquafredda, lombardy, italy

create trip,
open trip window and make this trip become shortest.

remake trip and see that street go north until Brescia. this is wrong

If you bring start point nearest (example: Casteggio, Lombardy, Italy) and create shortest trip, now trip is right.

Some one know how I can tell this bug to microsoft? or is possibile to correct some registry info to correct error?

This problem also exists in the State of Kansas. If you map from "Belvue, KS" to "901 W 1st Ave, Hutchinson, KS", it takes a route that is 150 miles longer then necessary. (This is in version 2006, which I bought to fix a similiar problem in Missouri in version 2004)

The only solution I've found so far is if you map in reverse, it "fixes" it for me. For example, instead of setting Belvue as the Start point, I set it as the End point and it seems to work. However this is a hack because I now have to map every customer twice and take the shorter mileage?!?

If someone knows how to contact MS or third party to see if they can work on their shortest route algorithm, that would be great. But I can't seem to find anywhere on MS MapPoint site how to "update bad addresses" or list "bugs"?

I have the same problem.
I find that it happens when distance between 2 point is more than 200km.
I haven't found any Windows's register setting or other for resolve it.

MS is well aware of the routing error issue, and is working with its data providers to correct the issue. However, it is quite unlikely that a patch will be issued. Hopefully we will see the correction(s) in the next available version.
