I've just installed Mappoint 2004 on XP. It installed ok & loads but crashes when I select 'find'.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have the same problem. If anybody has a solution, please tell us.
Thanks.

I have been trying to install as well. I am using the MSDN version of MapPoint2004 and installing onto a W2K environment. The product installs, and even runs - that is up until the point you try to enter an address. It crashes with the usual "We're sorry for the inconveniece - please tell Microsoft about this problem"...
Did you use Nero to burn the ISO?
As crazy as it sounds, the solution for me was to re-burn the ISO images with something other than Nero 5.5.1.9. I read this on some other news groups, and it was my last resort since the installation from the disks I made with 5.5.1.9 went smoothly.
Reburned and installed with Nero 6 fixed my problem!
This problem is due to MDAC not being up to date (version 2.5 and below cause this problem).
I do not remember the link to MS download of MDAC but if you search on goole you'll find it. Remember to reboot after installing MDAC.

also, I meant "google" not "goole"![]()
Having the same problem. Just installed MDAC 2.8, and still have the same problem. Any other ideas?
