MapPoint 2004 Geocoding

I am new to MapPoint 2004 (but not new to GIS), I am currently using the trial version. Is there a way to get an exact latitude and longitude put into the table that you have geocoded? In addition, is there a way to get a georesult (ie. how exact the location match is)?

The software is not designed to be a geocoder, in fact the lat/lon is not even exposed in the object model for programmers, you have to do some trig calculations to figure it out.

That said, check the articles section, there is one about "improving" the algorithm, while the title is mis-leading (and I will take responsibility for that) it is a stab at making MapPoint be a geocoder.

Also, the Pushpin Tool will export the lat/lon's.

Manifold (http://www.manifold.net) can use MapPoint as a geocoder. This will add 2 colums to your table with addresses, containing the lat/lon of the address.

Thanks for that link. Does Manifold only geocode through an IMS, or does it also have a stand alone option for geocoding?
Thanks
