Is MapPoint 2004 a .Net product?

Or does it still use COM?

still COM based but registers as an interop component within Visual Studio.NET so you can use it within the .NET framework.

What's wrong with COM? It's far more performant than .NET....

.NET is better

I have had a terrible time using Visual Studio .NET 2002 with MapPoint. I love VS studio and don't really want to go back to VB6, but I get the weirdest errors (non-descript) when I try to import even simple ascii files. I found one example in VB.NET that took data from excel and it works great, but the simpler text files are giving me trouble.
