I've been playing around with the ActiveX control automated through MS Access for the past several versions. Recently upgraded to Mappoint 2006 and am now getting strange behavior.

The control is on an Access Form, but when I fire up the form, it resizes itself to be tiny.

So first off - any ideas on what might be causing that?

Then, as I'm searching for an answer, I find the following:
Getting started by using the MapPoint Control

"Note In MapPoint 2006, the MapPoint Control is supported only in Visual Basic 6.0. Consequently, the MapPoint Control is not supported in Visual Basic for Applications (for example, the Visual Basic for Applications included with Microsoft Office)."

Does this mean that use of the ActiveX within an Access form is no longer supported?

Hi Ben,

I think that page has always been there for each version.
If I recall correctly, it is the ambient properties of ActiveX controls
which were not designed by MS and specifically for Office that
will always be unsupported.
There's probably more to it than that ...

Did you get an answer to your question? I am trying to use an activex control (small box on the form) to interact with my formdata. I simply want to take the latitude and longitude that are on the same form and draw the map in the small box. Is this what you do in your apps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you also have the same form problem as the original poster ? Or is it or is it other general information you need ? (it is not clear to me)
