Hi,
I have MapPoint 2006 NA and Europe versions installed. Up until last week both have been working/running fine for about a year. Sometime last week, the Europe version quit working when I was running it in my app. I have an MFC C++ application that uses both. So, I tried the application outside of my app, and it hangs at the splash screen and just stays there. I have to terminated it in the Processes from Task manager. It doesn't appear to use any CPU cycles once it shoes the splash screen, like it's waiting on something or me. I CAN run the NA version just fine. I've tried uninstalling, and re-installing to see if the problem will go away, but it doesn't fix it.

ANY help would be useful. I did install some WinCE packages last week, which could be related to this. I tried a restore point, but it didn't fix the problem.

you could try to register it again by type: mappoint.exe /registerserver

Are there any add-ins installed? They might be hanging when they load.

There's also the old favorite of uninstalling MapPoint (both editions) and re-installing.
