I have a problem with Microsoft Mapoint Europe 2006 ocx component.

I used the 2004 version for a long time in a my Visual Basic 2006 application and all went well. Now to upgrade maps I installed the 2006 version and the result is that my application doesn't run more ! In particular when I execute this command

Mappointcontrol1.NewMap geoMapEurope

I have the following error :

run-time error '16400' Mappoint Europe can't run because it is not registered on your system, or it can be found......

If I execute the MapPoint application all runs. I tried to register ocx compenent ed exe application but it was useless.

Could someone help me please ?

Did you try mappoint.exe /registerserver in the right folder ?

Yes I tried .
I tried to unistall and reinstall more time MapPoint after an hand made cleaup of the registry. I don't know which other try !

Did you try to remove the activeX control from the Toolbox palette in the IDE and reinstall it ? I'm just guessing but I'm pretty sure it has to be somthing like that.

Yes, I tried with a new vb project also with a form, a button and the mappoint ocx. In the button_click I wrote

Mappointcontrol1.NewMap geoMapEurope

The result is

Could it be that you did not answered 'yes agree' on the licence agreement ? Try to run mappoint.exe to check. eventually the help / about.

I answered yes. The mappoint applicatione run well !

I assume you have installed mappoint with same windows logon as your development environment ?

Could be something in registry. Something wrong that was not updated during the reinstall. Eventually uninstall mappoint again. be sure that the directories are deleted then run the registry cleaner from sysinternals.com to be sure nothing is still pointing to something. then reinstall mappoint.
