i have run into a problem with the mappoint plugin. i have a software application that uses the plugin and we developed it in VS2008. everything has been fine for the last 6 months but in the last two days two of our clients have had the same problem. when they start our program and the plugin loads it crash for an unknown reason. this is common when DEP is turned on so we disable DEP shut down the computer and start it back up and now when the plugin tries to load from our software we get a message about registry settings not being copied correctly. it says to reinstall mappoint from the location it was origonally installed. then the program crashes and says something about mappoint not being able to access network files. this error message has to be bogus everything is running from the local machine. UAC is turned of and DEP is turned off, and we are running under the adminstrator account on the computer. What is the problem. there is not some windows update screwing this up is there? What can i do, again we have had no problem running this for the last six months and now all the sudden, out of no where this problem sprung up.
