We have the DVD install image of Mappoint 2009 freshly download from MSDN (one large ISO). When I go to install it on my test machine, I am not given the option to do a minimum/full install. It just does a full install, copying all the data files to my test machine. Instead I would like to run the data files off the network like I was able to do with Mappoint 2002, 2004 and 2006. These were always provided as 2 CDs or 2 ISO images and maybe this is why I don't see the option to do a minimum install? I'm not sure.
Here's what I've tried so far to do a minimum install:
- Create an administrative install on the network and run the install from that. This has the same effect - never given option to do minimum install and all data files are copied over.
- added INSTALLLEVEL=100 to setup.ini and/or as a parameter to the setup.exe install file - (c:\setup.exe INSTALLLEVEL=100) - same results
- Tried removing data files from install path (moved to another folder on network) and then ran the install. When prompted that the files were missing, I just clicked ignore. Then I went into the registry and set the DataPath (under user and local machine) to the the network location where the data files were now stored. This always worked in previous versions, but in 2009 this just prompts me every time I try to open Mappoint that the files are missing and tries to install them. If I click ignore, I can open Mappoint, but I am prompted every time I open Mappoint.
So does anyone else have the option to do minimum install? Maybe I need to download a different set of ISOs?
Thanks for you help.
