It works for me too. It even retained the 2006 index numbers. Great work Yves!

    Yves,
    Thank you, thank you!
More importantly for me than being able to use the 2006 (way superior) pushpins in Mappoint 2009 is being able to use them in MS Streets & Trips 2009. I followed your procedure for patching to Mappoint 2009 but inserted "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009" in the "please enter the Mappoint 2009 directory". Like magic when I open MS Streets & Trips 2009 the wonderful old pushpin set appears in the toolbar. Including when I open older maps. What a relief.
Ps. I spent a half hour on the phone with microsoft tech support today and they said the ONLY way is to "import custom symbols" ONE by ONE!
    Gratefully, Joan Holzer

Thank you Yves! I just did as JOANHOLZER for my S&T2009 - brilliant! You are a gentleman and a scholar. It is too bad that Microsoft never quite finishes the details of such great software and forces us turn to the kindness of very thoughtful people like you.

    BRAVO! and THANK YOU!

Yes, it's possible but I will need your help.
What is the langage (French, English ...) of your Mappoint Europe?

    Re: Mappoint 2009 pushpins

We do not alter the language handling of the application. The environment (the OS and MAPPoint) is allowed to handle any translations that may be required. We handle most things in English, although some of our European offices will use the native language support, such as Spanish in Spain.

I know this problem will probably be difficult to solve, unless you got a copy of the European version of MapPoint 2009 before Microsoft pulled it from the MSDN site. I still have the defective version loaded on my workstation, along with the North American version, so I can still do some basic testing.

The PushPin application worked great for us with the North American version of MapPoint 2009, we just need to get the push pins back for the European version. Just renaming the MSM16USA.dll to MSM16EUR.dll did not work. There apparently is a checksum somewhere that the application can pick up on and identify that the DLL is wrong.

    Ron
