| I have the Shape Files of Congressional Districts from the Census Bureau site. However, MapPoint will not display the Excel Visuals (county and zip code density) over shape files. Is there a better file to use than a Shape file for the Congressional Districts? Should I manually create the Congressional Districts in Territories and then overlay the excel data (and is that even possible?)? I'm at the point where I don't know what else to do as far as getting these images to appear. Any help is much appreciated, THANK YOU!!! Kris ![]() |

Hi Kris, Not sure what you mean ... The shapefiles are translated into native MapPoint Shapes and the numbers will show up in a balloon when you hover your mouse over it. Try using zOrder SendBehindRoads on each shape also. Maybe add a textbox on each shape? 001_9898: Mike Mattys |

| Re: MapPoint 2009 Shape Files
Sorry about not being super clear. What I would like to do is create the U.S. Congressional Districts within MapPoint. That's step one. From the US Census Bureau, they have shape files that will draw the Congressional Districts in MapPoint. I have these. Step 2, is taking data I have by county and zip code. This is population density of our membership by county and zip. I woule like to show this density data within the Congressional District. Things I am wondering. Is there a better way or better file to use when creating the Congressional Districts other than the shape files? Do I need to create the Congressional Districts myself using the "terriroties" functions? Can I overlay the "density" data once I create the Congressional District? Thank you again and sorry for being such a newbie! Kris ![]() |
