As discussed some in other threads, recent versions of MapPoint do not always display the right data in thematic or Shaded Area maps.
Cris describes it pretty well here --
I thought the issue only occurs when Territories are on the map, but Cris suggests it can occur even without Territories.... it's a sneaky little bug. In both 2010 and 2011, the data set colors may appear to map correctly at first, but when you change the zoom, add other data, or take a snap shot everything goes whacky. You lose one color. If you're low on resources, you can even lose all but one color. This is especially true if you are mapping data sets on top of territories - something we do all the time.
It's also deceptive because if you save the file and reopen it, you get your colors back. But only temporarily. Do anything and one color disappears again.
Anyway, if anyone has more information or samples, please post! In particular, what versions exhibit the problems? Is it just MapPoint 2010/2011? Also, is the bug identical in both versions or did anything get better (or worse) with MapPoint 2011?
Thanks!
Eric
