    MapPoint 2010 and Excel VBA questions.

    Hello, I just started working with MapPoint in VBA the other day and I seemed to have hit a road block that I was hoping I could get some help with.

    I've figured out how to create pushpins using Excel data sets but I was wondering if there was a way to populate the pushpin information balloon with other data from the spreadsheet. So far all I have is the name.

    Also, I was wondering if there was a way to prevent the user from moving the pushpins once they are created in MapPoint. I've found links to this - MP2K Magazine article but it doesn't seem to exist anymore.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Charles

    Dataset/Recordset data fields are read only (ie. you can't create data fields as if you imported them from the Data Import Wizard), but there is the Note field which can be used.

    Simply format your information into text and set the Note field to it.

    try this
    'places name box from excel spreadsheet
    szname = Sheets("MapData").Cells(2, 4)
    Set objPushpin = objMap.AddPushpin(objLoc, szname)
    'adds addtional data into four new lines in ballon
    objPushpin.Note = "Dev - " & Sheets("MapData").Cells(2, 5) & vbCrLf & _
    "Dvlpr - " & Sheets("MapData").Cells(2, 6) & vbCrLf & _
    "CurSPW - " & Sheets("MapData").Cells(2, 7) & vbCrLf & _
