Does anyone know about the problem with MP2004 where it can't import points with a longitude in the range -0.0001 to +0.0001 (apart from 0 itself)? Is there a fix for this?
Thanks,
-Michael

That is less than one second of arc!
What does it do? Just round to zero?
According to my rough calculations, 0.0001 degrees longitude measured at the equator is about 11 metres. (about 6.8m for London)

Hi Richard,
It means MapPoint can't import the point - it rejects it altogether. So one cannot have points located on a thin strip vertically throgh Greenwich (apart from a point that's actually 0.000000)

I don't have MP2004 Europe to check against, but I can manually add pushpins to MP2002 Europe within 0.0001 deg.
Yes I did this in Greenwich Park

I just tried it in MP2002 and MP2004 and the points mentioned do not get imported (they are skipped). It seems to coincide with the data import (or maybe my Excel source) deciding to convert the values to scientific notation e.g longitude of "1e-005". I'll have a look at the code method and see if that does it as well - my guess is that it will.
If you have found a solution already - please post it as my application will need to be able to plot points accurately in this area.

It could well be an input rounding issue, although that seems a bit odd - unless ithe rounding is occurring in internal variables - and not "real world longitude".
I could manually add pushpins. It sounds like they can't be imported.
Yes, I'm guessing programmatically adding them would work.
If not, there are probably workarounds like "moving" a pre-existing pushpin.

Don't suppose anyone's found an answer to this yet as it's still a problem.
And moving points a bit isn't an option - things have to be where they actually are!
I reported this to Microsoft via the Map Feedback tool - is this likely to have any effect???
