mappoint cd development in java?

Hello all,

This is such a great forum! Awesome articles and quality posts.

I'm trying to develop navigation functionality for in-car use w/ touchscreen. I'll be designing my own GUI, but would like to include mappoint technology (displaying the map, input addresses, voice prompts, etc.). The maps and application will be installed on a harddrive in the car-pc. I researched and looks like I want Streets & Trips 2006 functions, nothing more than that.

I should be able to use the mappoint sdk, right? Also, I'm an 'expert' at Java. I'd like to program in it for this application, but i'm having some trouble finding examples or tutorials specifically for it. From the articles, I guess I should get the books for mappoint now, which can help me code in Java for the Mappoint CD version , right?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Most example you find are in VB, but you should have no difficulty to read VB code. There is also a book with dotNet examples. Java is 90% same as C# and dotNet so maybe this one is very helpfull ?
