MapPoint Control in Web applications

Hi,

I'm designing an application web in ASP with Visual Basic Script, and I'd like to include MapPoint.
I've thought to use the Mappoint Control but I don't know how use it in the ASP page and I don't know if it is possible. Could someone help me?

I've also thought to create other control Active X which include the MapPoint Control with Visual Basic and use it in my ASP page. But I would prefer the first option if it was possible.

I've already designed a DLL with MapPoint Objects but this solution doesn´t goes in an application web because it only shows maps in the server.

Thank you very much.

Hi

There are numerous ways to use the MapPoint control from an ASP page. It cannot be done directly by adding the control to the ASP page because it is greyed in this case (If I remember well). Using the MapPoint control in an ASP page, according to me, can be done by "hacking" the control, I mean :

The soft environment is composed of :

1- An ASP application
2- A standalone application with MapPoint control on a form, or this standalone application being an automated MapPoint Application

1 & 2 communicates through IP

Then :

Someone use your ASP application and need to geolocate an address, so :

a- The ASP application (1) receives the address to geolocate
b- The ASP app communicates the address to (2)
c- (2) replies in binary data to (1)
d- (1) displays the data to the user

But all that is a little bit hard to code... I used to do this but I was then told that this kind of application is illegal for Microsoft so it cannot be deployed...

See you
