Re: MapPoint in Desktop Applications

You could use the FindNearby functionality to grab the nearest POI address.. I think that might be your best bet.

Did you already pick a development environment? Visual Studio 2008 Visual Basic Express is free to get started.. I'd recommend that.

Re: MapPoint in Desktop Applications

Do you have the "offline" version of MapPoint i.e. MapPoint 2010 or are you using the web services?

Re: MapPoint in Desktop Applications

Well, I think you need the "offline" version of MapPoint - MapPoint 2010. What country are you in? There are North America and European versions of MapPoint.

Re: MapPoint in Desktop Applications

Sorry, MapPoint 2010 doesn't cover Pakistan, you would need some other software.

Re: MapPoint in Desktop Applications

I'm not sure about a suitable data viewer, but you might want to look at OpenStreetMaps - open source mapping. If your road is missing (for example), you could always add it to the global database!
