Is there any information to guide a developer in the best implementaion choices for programming MapPoint applications?

For example, when should you embed MapPoint as an OCX in a form versus manipulating the application object?

I'm trying to find the best implementation strategy for building an application, and trying to determine the pros and cons of the various options.

Please share any experience that can save me grief.

I dont think there is mutch pro/contra in using the component model or the object model. The first one is more easy I think. Using the object model it is possible to remove the stupid label, however I dont know how (I just dont have it in my object model

An advantage about the object model is that you dont have to matter witch mappoint version is used. It will jsut use the l2004 version even if 2002 is also installed. With the component model you have to create the components yourself instead dropping on a form if you wants to be compatible with both (or later) versions.
