Does anyone have any info on what is required from a Licensing POV when distributing Mappoint Apps created in VB to others?

    Thanks,

Each deaktop needs a MapPoint license.

You can get a 10-pack of licenses for re-sellers, check with maplic@microsoft.com for details and they can recommend your best option.

Thanks for the quick reply Eric.

    This is right from MSDN...

"After you create an application with the MapPoint Control, you may want to distribute it to others. Each computer on which the application is installed must have either a full MapPoint license or a MapPoint Control run-time license; otherwise your application's call to MapPoint will fail."

Do you by chance know what a control run-time license is and how it differs from just buying a full license?

I will try out the email address you suggested. Haven't been having much luck getting decent info from MS regarding any aspect of mappoint.

    Thanks,

    Messier

The "run-time' license as far as I know is actually just a full license, but they offer the 10-packs for less to solution providers..
