i need to evaluate the mappoint webservice for a PDA delivery project i'm working on.. i've applied for a trial account twice now.. the first time i got an email back asking for more info, so i replied and have heard nothing back.. anybody else has problems with getting trial account.. I really need to get this sorted asap as the client is interested in seeing maps on the PDA for the delivery drivers..

also anybody know anything about the pricing for the webservice?

I found this post belowon the MSDN from June 19th. Not a low cost solution like MapPoint. Might also try MapQuest and GeoMicro for other options.

Subject: MapPoint Web Service Pricing Info
There is an annual platform access license fee to use the service:
$10,000 includes maps only of either North America or Europe
$20,000 includes maps and driving directions for either North America or Europe

In addition, there is a platform usage fee based on the number of transactions your application consumes:

- 500,000 transactions annually for $5,000
- 1 million transactions annually for $8,000
- 5 million transactions annually for $37,500
- 10 million transactions annually for $70,000
