I intend to develop a mobile client that sits inside a car, and can notify the user when he approaches a speed cam, or give him directions to his next appointment from outlook. Play songs for him, and make calls.
I am not yet a hundred percent clear as to which amongst these two solutoins would suit best. I know I am not being very precise, but can some one pleae direct me to some article that can explain to me why you would use the WebService and why you would opt for the Location Server WebService.
The impression I have got so far is if you dont have any server side functionality to implement outside your client, you would opt for the MapPoint webservice and not the Location Server WebService.
Also the explainations available on the net for sample apps always use a mobile phone as a client that is tracked. I am looking at a Smart mobile application that may be on the Windows CE .NET 4.2 platform.
My main concern being how and what information can an application on this platform provide to the webservice to locate itself without input from the enduser.
Even if not a specific solution, any helpful links would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
