| Mappoint2002 vs. ESRI Map Objects Has anyone had experience with both and do you favor one over the other? How often are zip codes updated? Can I import Shapefiles? How well does it work with Oracle? Can you make this a web-enabled app? Thanks in advance for you help! Linda |

A better comparison is to ESRI's Business Map products I think.. Does Map Objects include zip's? MapPoint is updated annually though this time around (MapPoint 2002 -> MapPoint 2003) I think it will be more like 1.5+ years between releases. There is an un-supported and incomplete but free shape and mif/mid file importer http://www.mp2kmag.com/news.asp?NewsID=20, also see http://www.mp2kmag.com/importersub01.asp . Not sure about Oracle though anything for which you can contruct a .UDL (Microsoft Data Link) should work? The EULA prohibits use on the web although you may post static images created from MapPoint.
