MapPointControl Windowless / VB6

Hi.

I want to embed the MPControl via an VB6-OCX in my BI-application. The application requires that the OCX-window is in the state "windowless".

Is there anyone who has experience in VB6 to place an windowed control onto an windowless control?

Thanks in advance.

Guido

Hi,

What is a BI-application ?

Mappoint creates his own windows handle, so your application does not have to create a window to let it execute.

BI = Business Intelligence. We use a very nice tool named QlikView.

I'm not an VB expert, but isn't it possible that Mappoint window uses the handle of my (windowless) Window instead of its own handle?

Hi Guido,

I did a quick look at QLikView. But this seems a normal windows application to me (or maybe I did the look too quick and it is a component ?). However to get back to your original question:

A windowless application is to me an application that does not has a window handle open, so does not have any (hidden) window created. Probably they means something else ? Because I cannot see any reason for an application or a compent to not use in code other components creating (hidden) windows.

Sorry to answer questions with other questions ... But maybe I malundersteand some things...
