Mappont, postcodes and distances

Hi everyone,

We are currently looking at purchasing Mappoint to calculate the distance and travel time between two UK postcodes. We have previously purchased Autoroute, but realise this does not have the interface or functionality to write macros for the following.

1. Importing a database of postcodes from a database into a program, e.g. Mappoint;
2. Calculating the distance and travel time between the two postcodes using Mappoint.
3. exporting the respective distances back to the database or another program, e.g. Excel.

Has anyone out there done anything like this before or know if it is possible? We need to automate this process as entering 100's of postcodes and caculating the distance is not going to be a lot of fun!

As Microsoft have removed the test download from their website, we are not able to check this out. We are also unsure as to whether the trial version includes all the functional coding bits.

Any details anyone can provide would be appreciated.

Regards,
Fred & Co.

Postcodes

I've heard quite a bit about UK postcodes in MapPoint 2002 - and none of it was good.

Might be worth waiting for MapPoint 2004 and seeing if they've improved them...
