Hi!

I just installed MapPoint 2009, and ran a few tutorials to get familiar with it. I just launched the map of Helsinki for the 1st time, and for a huge amazement I notice most of the street names to be in swedish. Why is this, and how can I change them to show in finnish?

I suspect you're stuck with them. MapPoint Europe has a few language versions (for text, captions, map names - "Cologne vs Koln" etc), but none are Finnish or Swedish.

Could it be that the "Swedish" names are also the ones used in the language for the version of MapPoint you have (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian)

Another question:

The options tab asks me if I want the program to check periodically for newer versions. Will it upgrade to MapPoint 2010, or what?

Not sure what the feature was meant for. I thought it would notify a user when a new version becomes available, but I haven't seen any notification myself.
