maps saved as a web page

Hi,

We are considering using the 'save map as web page' feature on our site. According to the MP 2002 EULA, it indicates that we can use this feature provided we are not selling the maps and we stay under the 1000 count limit per license.

Our clients gain benefit from being on our site; in fact many pay extra for certain features.

My question is this: If we use this feature to show static maps of our clients' locations, does this constitute finaancial gain provided we don't sell it as a feature? In other words, we provide these maps for free, but some of our clients are paying us to be on the site for other reasons. (NOTE: We do NOT use any data other than the street maps, so licensed MapPoint data such as demographic spending is not an issue).

I know that print media is prohibited because they make money from the publication, so I'm not sure if this is essentially the same scenario.

(I also know we are not about to dish out $4,400/year for a mapquest license or an equal amount for MapPoint.Net Web Service - too pricy for small business).

Thanks in advance,

SSS

As long as it's static maps on your own site (less than a 1000 per license) I don't think it's a problem.. check with maplic@microsoft.com for a better opinion.
