| Microsoft Launches SQL Server 2008 Last week Microsoft launched the biggest enterprise product introduction in Microsoft's history, announcing the availability of Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008, and SQL Server 2008. Of course I am blogging on this not just because it is a monumental event, but because Virtual Earth customers have been long awaiting the release of SQL Server 2008 for its geospatial extensions. While the product is available today in beta, I understand that it won't actually ship until late July. Ed Katibah, spatial project manager for Microsoft’s SQL Server, is now keeping a blog and covers the announce of SQL Server 2008 here.         |
