MP2K in VB6: objects on top of the mappoint control?

Is it possible to get objects to appear on top of the mappoint control object area? it seems that send-to-back and bring-to-front have no effect.. the map is always on top.

also, does anyone know if you can disable all of the clickability built into the mappoint object? for instance I would like no right click menu, and no zoom capability. just a simple map display.

thanks so much for your help... i'm really looking forward to programming with mappoint, it looks like there's a lot of potential with this activex control

thanks, that's great... left click still works but that is not too bad...

so is there no way to make the map be treated just like a static image display? just curious if that can be done..

You can.. essentially you'd copy the map and paste it into a image control.

back to this 'objects on top of the map' thing... i want to place icons on the map, like an overlay, but i don't want them to stay in position when themap gets panned.. what do you think is the best way to overlay an image on top of the map area? or even add it to the map but clear it when the map is panned or zoomed or otherwise changed..?
