MS Access and Mappoint ActiveX Control

When trying to look at the custom properties of the activex control I get and error message that states "Operation on the Microsoft Mappoint Control 11.0 object failed". Additionally it states the OLE server may not be registered. The activex control appears to be registered. What should I look for and how to I correct the problem.

Thanks

MapPoint not MS Access compliant

If you search the Microsoft site with the error message you receive, you will be able to find a statement to the effect that this error indicates the software is not Access compatible.

the control isn't available in access

(unless you maybe know some registry magic or something)

The application object is available and works quite well with Access VBA. I've created a nice little mappoint commander app in access that gens maps, adds and deletes shapes, does some nice math stuff.

Would have been nicer to have the control in Access, but VB handles the control quite well.

Kind of nasty of MS to leave the control Accessless.

Which MS Access version?

I attempted to use the MapPoint control in MS Access 97 and got errors. However, the control works properly in MS Access 2000.

Which version of Access are you using?
