Multi-radius

i just posted this msg in wish list i presume it isnt possible - if it is i will be very happy man :-)

"In my job i have to find out who falls in any of 12 25km radiuses in the UK. To do this i either have to delete all pins outside the radiuses and then export all, or export each radius then add them together and remove any duplications (some radiuses overlapp... so some may be on twice)

It would be brill to be able to select, then export multiple radiuses at once... then there would be no overlapp. How about then being able to export all the pins, not under those radiuses... that would be great."

Regards

Dan

I deal with your exact problem. Here is how I deal with it.

1) I use the drawing tools to draw a circle around the pushpin which I wish to use as the center point. I typically look at a 20 mile radius.

2) I export all the enclosed pushpins with Pushpin Tool (trial version available on this site).

3) I then use a formula I found at the following address to compute distance between the center pushpin and the object pushpin (http://www.cpearson.com/excel/latlong.htm)

4) I then use a nested IF/THEN function in Excel to break the distances into 5 mile radius increments.

5) Finally, I sort and do a subtotal on the IF/THEN function that defines the 5 mile radius increments.

Hope this helps.
