Good day (and tomorrow for those in Japan),
I went to use the MapPoint ActiveX control within two different instances (of 2 different forms - VB6 SP5), it seems MSMP2k4 doesn't support multiple instances of the MSMP ActiveX Control ? I got two different maps to come up, which is great, but form focus was skwewy, if a user brings focus to formA, formB gains focus to that particular instance of the MSMP control. Since birth of Windows OS, I've not seen form behaviour this tormenting for a user, heh, click form A, you gain focus to form B, guess what, you get Form A, but it's been repositioned perm. behind B.
I have so far encountered a few cases where people sought multiple instances of MSMP, one web related where licensing issues became critical (let alone system resources), another where it is demonstrated that if you have two instances of MSMP running, you really end up with 4 instances.
Has anyone had any success in allowing multiple MapPoint controls to function without form focus interference within the same app instance ?
