Hey, looking for someone to help in coding the following, would pay a few hundred to have it done in a timely manner…or, to find a way to do the alternate below…
What is needed is the following. We’re using mappoint 2004 to define a set of territories. The territories are based on zip-codes. However, when using mappoint 2004, once you get into the territory section and choose zip-code as your defining criteria for territory, you can no longer see counties. This is the crux of our problem – we need to be able to see both counties and zip codes at the same time, since some of our regions are based on counties and others on zips. Now, understand, I don’t need to be able to select counties and zips at the same time to define territories, just SEE where the county lines are. I figure there are several ways to deal with this – some of my ideas are below, maybe people have other ones:
1. a custom COM addin could be written that allows us to show/print maps with just zips and counties shown when were in territory mode using zip-codes as the basis of the territories. Even if we can’t see them in the territory mode, but instead in some kind of custom map mode, it would still help, since we could print out the maps and use them as reference – but the counties would need to be color coded for ease of use. Anyhow, the first option is what we really need.
2. Alternate: import the counties as shapes – I wanted to try this, but the spatial import com add-in on the Microsoft site is no longer available…weird.
Anyhow, any guidance or advice anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated. You can also contact me if you want the gig...
