New to Mappoint... Having some questions...

I'm new to MapPoint and have some questions.

Having read a lot about VB or C++ Codes for improving Mappoint. How are they integrated into Mappoint? COM Addins?

For example we have a customer address and need to find out the nearest airport/harbour. Can Mappoint handle with this?

Thx a lot for your time
Michael

Do you have points that define the airports/harbors or will you try to use the POI's built into MapPoint? I think you'd do best with your own set of airport/harbor locations so you can be sure it's a large enough airport and harbor that is in operation, etc.

There are at least two common ways to start programming with MapPoint, either automate it out of Excel or Access or write a COM Add-in with VB 6. Automating out of Excel is probably the easiest and requires the least resource (Excel as opposed to VB 6). Check the recent Newsletters for some examples. Also, there are many examples in the articles as well as in this forum.

Hi Michael,

It is not direcly improving mappoint but integrating mappoint into an own written application, so doing other things with it than in the standard exetable And yes this can be done in C, VB, etc, if fact most (if not all) common laguages.
