OK here is the scoop. I want to do something very easy in Mappoint but I can't seem to make it work. I want to a) shade counties differently from each other so I can easily see them b) drop a text value into the county (well actually it's numeric, but its how we name our branches e.g. 075). So far I keep getting them shaded as if the numeric value is some quantitative value and thats not really what I want. I was thinking that if I can get the counties shaded differently I could even use pushpins for our branch names, but the name is associated to a county, not a specific address (at least in my dataset).
Any help would be appreicated.

Well
a) I can't figure out how to shade counties randomly so they are visible
b) I can't fiure out hot to import my excel branch number and place it inside these counties

The only thing I can find is shading based on some value. . .
