Here's another one -- Navteq - In The Right Direction? They mention Microsoft -- "Sep 4 - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) said it would buy Navteq's map of Mexican roadways to put to use in Microsoft Streets & Tips, Microsoft MapPoint, Live Search Maps and MSN. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The stock gained 4.4% and rose to $65.80."

After all, neither wants to reduce the paltry profits of their new purchases by jettisoning big clients. More on the topic from PCMag -- "The deals nonetheless are cause for concern among GPS companies like TeleNav, which provides navigation services for mobile phones to 13 carriers in 20 countries. TeleNav has used Navteq and TeleAtlas for map information for "many years", said HP Jin, chief executive of TeleNav. "News of the TeleAtlas-TomTom pairing was of concern to Jin due to potential conflicts of interest. "Nokia, in a way, will be able to offer a service that is competing with what we offer," he said in an interview. "The same thing with TomTom."
