Hi,

I have just installed a gps receiver on my laptop. It is all configured and it is working well.

Now I am trying to use this gps receiver in my vb.net application that use a MapPoint control.

I am getting an "Access denied" error at the objGPS.Tracking = TRUE instruction.

It is configured on the port COM4, do MapPoint expect it to be on COM3?

It is working fine when I use MapPoint, it is only in my VB.NET application that I am receiving the error.

I'm having the same problem, cant get it to work.

Hi,

Instead of using objGPS.Tracking = TRUE in my VB application, I have added the MapPoint tool bar to my MapPoint contol.

That way the users start manualy the GPS and everything is working fine.

I did not investigate more on the issue I had with "objGPS.Tracking = TRUE", because the users prefer to start the GPS manualy from the tool bar.

Unfortunately my application requires this process to be automatic. We are using it in vehicle PC's and are trying to take away most work from the drivers.

Can anyone get this working?

I will look on my side to see if I can find why it is giving the access denied. If I find something, I will let you know.
