| Obtaining/Exporting GPS Coordinates
I wrote a program (coordex) that will extract the lat/long of the MapPoint pushpins. Right now you can only extract to a small set of file formats. You should be able to parse the text file for input into Excel. Try the gpsutil file format. The next version will be able to interact with GPSBabel and export many more formats. |

I've just posted version 0.3 of Coordinate Exchange to my website: http://www.hypercubed.com/projects/coordex/ . This version should do what you need. Labtek |

Thanks for your help and the link to the file. I did as you suggested and it worked, however the problem that we encountered with the Coordintes were that they were off. They kept bringing us to different spots in the Atlantic Ocean. Even though the coordinates for each address was different, each coordinate location ended up somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. I don't know if there was a problem with the converstaion from the source file to the destination file. I don't know if you know of any solutions to fix this, but if you have they would be greatly appreciated. I want to thank-you for your help that you have provided. Cheers, Chris p.s Also, I don't know if you are familar with this software tool but anyhow here goes, we recently downloaded a demo version of MapPoint Push Pin Tool Beta version 2.5. I know that it is only a trail version and that it is limited in the amount of push pins that you can extract information from, but it goes through the motions fine and lets us do everything that we ask it to do except for actually extracting the information into an Excel file. When we open the data/route travel map and then go under tools menu and pushpin tool it works fine, then when that opens up we go under the pushpins dialog box/tools menu option and hit export with Lat/Lon option, when we do this it opens up the Excel spreadsheet but no information appears at all. So then when we go to close the book, it asks us do we want to save changes, but there is no information there at all. Are you familiar with this problem, and if so do you know of a solution that we can use to correct this problem. Thanks for all the information that you have provided to us in the past. Take care. Chris
