Can you give more information on an .axe file? Do you know where it came from? Can you open it in a text editor?
Thanks,
Eric
It's an autoroute European map file, when i open it in notepad it comes up with a load of rubish. I have autoroute 2007 and it opens ok in that the thing is that i cant export the data from it, someone sugested mappoint as there is an export feature but it wont open.
Are you using the European Maps version of MapPoint 2006 (not the North American version)? just checking.
It could be because AR07 is newer than MP06... ? so you might try pasting the data from AR07 into AR06 or AR05 and then try to open from MP06EU.
In AR07, are there any other options for Save As ?
There are tools for reading Microsoft geography files (e.g. ptm, est) directly and exporting to text. You might try these!
Read and Write Directly to MapPoint Binary Files
ITNConv
hope this helps!
Eric
It's the European version, I'll try those tools and get back to you.
many thnaks
It isn't a route I am trying to export it is a series of push pin locations about 3000 shop locations is this possible?
It should be possible... in routing or GPS terminology pushpins might be referred to as WayPoints, but they should be supported.
Do you want to post your zipped axe file here? Maybe someone can get them out. I'll give it a shot.
Eric
Sorry been on holiday, I would be most greatful if you could have a look at this for me.
I tried both ITN Conv and GPS Babel but neither of them worked... ITN Conv says there are no itineraries and GPS Babel reports unsupported version.
You might try this Utilizing MapPoint for Emergency Services, MapLinx Pro, Greg Slayden, Action Engine or post to the ITN Conv or GPS Babel forums to see if someone there can help you..
Eric
No worries mate thanks for trying!
