+--------------------------------------------------------------------+

[0]Barence writes "At CES, Palm announced what promises to be the product
that finally [1]matches and even betters the Apple iPhone, and certainly
looks to be the most important product announced at this year's Consumer
Electronics Show. It's called the Palm Pre and it's based on a completely
new operating system, called Palm webOS. Its key specs include a 3.1in
320x 480 touchscreen, 8GB of storage, UMTS HDSPA support (in the UK
version of the phone), 802.11b/g WLAN, Bluetooth, and GPS. It also
includes a slide-out Qwerty keyboard, 3.5mm headphone jack, and what Palm
described as the 'fastest ever' Texas Instruments OMAP processor."

Re: Palm Pre

I remember a couple years ago everyone with a little money was walking around with a new Palm Treo.. actually I was looking at the Palm Centro late last year for my new phone but ended up getting a Blackberry 8830.

My wife is the market for a new phone now, hopefully the Palm Pre will be available through Sprint!

AT&T has sexy phones

Sounds like it might not be available anywhere for quite a while..

On another note: how come AT&T gets all the sexy phones?

Anyway, sorry for having a conversation by myself here.. you're welcome to do it yourself as well

Zero Hour Palm Pre Review

I think I am going to have to scheme to switch phones with my wife when she gets this...

Palm gets back into the game with touchscreen Pre, WebOS : Ben Patterson : Yahoo! Tech

Shouldn't an aspiring real estate agent have (my old) Blackberry instead of this Palm?

Re: Zero Hour Palm Pre Review

She should, lol.

Eric, I'm the opposite of you, though. I just want as simple a phone as possible. I used a PDA phone for a few years, but I no longer desire a phone running on Windows Mobile operating system. I no longer need all the many features phones of today offer. I really want a single-purpose device: a telephone. I use my small laptop for everything else. However, there no longer seems to be a telephone that doesn't do all the other features, so I will forever have to deal with accidentally pressing the wrong button and accidentally turning on something that I don't want, ...

I'd pay big bucks for a phone that has no camera, no Internet access, no mp3 player, no unnecessary features ...

Re: Palm Pre

I don't think you have to pay *any* bucks for a simple phone... it should be included with any contract.

Just stay away from the ones that require an extra $40 USD per month for a data plan. That hurts.
