When a user clicks, you catch the mouseclick eventhandler and get the xy of the mouse and than call XYToLocation method of Map object. This is possible with Mappoint 2006.
He is clicking on a bitmap where a copy of the map is in, and the coordinates xy to lat/long has to go back to mappoint. And the bitmap may have an other size, or can be resized.

    You are right Wilfried.

The bitmap image can be resized and I am capturing the user clicks and translate them to lat/long coordinates.

I have found out that Mappoint uses variable ortographic projection. I am considering implementing this projection and this might solve my problem.

The only question I have is what 'variable' means. In this projection one needs a reference point, does variable means the centre point of the returned image?
