Pocket Streets and Com Ports

I have a BC-307 compact Flash GPS. I installed it and it is working fine according to the test software that came with it. I have Pocket Streets (from Mappoint 2004) installed on my IPaq (with WinCE 2003). I am trying to get Pocket Streets to see the GPS but the GPS software tells me it is on Com 7. Apparently I cannot change that. Pocket Streets will not see that Com Port.

I am really frustrated. Please, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried searching in here? The issue sounds familiar but I don't have direct experience with it.

Eric

Search is unsuccessful

I have been unable to find anything really even close to the question (one question that went unanswered is still there) using every combination of search terms I could think of. I know it must be a simple answer but I don't know where else to check.

Have you tried Google? Check both www.google.com and groups.google.com

I found a topic in Google groups but I'm not sure the answer is there.

You might try Google answers.

Also try:

This is as far as I got

You might also try a pocketpc forum.

Good luck,
Eric

GPS Com Ports

I have a similar problem with Garmin/Pocket Streets. Have you had any luck in finding a solution.
Regards John

BC-307 Pocket streets

If you run the test software, which comes with the gps then your pocket streets software will not see the COM Port, which connects to the GPS. The reason is because the test software has already used that port and the pocket streets software can not use it. Turn off your test software and try to run your pocket streets software again. It should be working.

Hope that helps.

Pocket Streets and com ports

Hi,
I have a BC-307 and an IPAQ. Pocket Streets did not work when I used the PCMCIA jacket adapter, but works fine with the CF Jacket adapter. I have no idea why

BC 307 running on Dell Axim A5

I had the same problem -- Pocket Streets couldn't talk to the GPS, and it turns out all I had to do was not try to run Pocket Streets while the test software was running.
