Possible to deploy a standalone C# MapPoint application ?

Hi

I've programmed an application with Visual Studio .NET 2003, around C# and the MapPoint 2002 ActiveX control.

Then I created a setup and deployment project in Visual Studio .NET 2003, and I added my application to the project.

When I execute the setup on another PC to verify if my deployment project is working well, I have an error saying that I must install MapPoint Europe for my application to run...

So :

Can I deploy an application around the MapPoint control, without installing the entire MapPoint Europe application from CD ?

Thank you

No.
This is explicitly covered in the EULA. Every machine that uses the control must have a licensed copy of MapPoint.
On a shared network/server type setup, a license must be purchased for each machine that will be using it.

If this wasn't the case, what's to stop someone producing a "wrapper" and giving it away for free complete with the control??

Hi,

You can do eather ask in the setup at a given point to install the Mappoint CD, or you can include the CD's (copy) in your instalation.

Note that you _have_ to include a legal CD from mappoint with your installation no matter if you need it for install or not as what Richard already has say.
