There is no feature for printing "tiles" in MapPoint, so doing this requires a little bit of creativity. MapPoint will print whatever you see in the map window on your screen. I would draw 9 identical rectangles on the map, each with the approximate proportion of an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet. Because MapPoint won't let you "clone" (copy and paste) drawing objects, I think you should draw the nine rectangles one on top of the other, then move them to their right locations in 3 rows of 3 columns. Once this is done, I would close the "legend and overview" pane, and resize your MapPoint window to the approximate proportion of an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet. Next, in the Print dialog, make sure the Orientation is set to Portrait, and that the "Include legend" and "Include overview" boxes are not ticked. Also make sure you set the margins in Page Setup to 0 (for most printers it will automatically change to whatever the smallest allowed margin is, usually 0.166"). Finally, you zoom in to the first "tile" (rectangle on the map) and hit Print. Then you pan over to the next tile (making sure you don't zoom in or out) and hit Print again. Repeat until you are done, then tape the pages together. |
