I use MapPoint 2006 to import Excel datasets that consist of address and intersections, placing a pushpin on the map for each. Following are examples of each format:
"1000 Main St, Cincinnati, OH"
"Main St & Court St, Cincinnati, OH"
There is no problem with matching street addresses. But, when an intersection is used instead, the software places the pushpin on the city, not the intersection within that city.
From reading some of the older posts on this forum, I realize that MapPoint uses only one of three methods for matching addresses. My formatting is correct, as it works just fine using the "Find" box within the software.
This is probably an easy fix for most, however, I have no experience with Visual Basic, and despite my best efforts with Visual Basic 2008, nothing works.
Two questions:
1. Do I need to create an add-in using VBA to have MapPoint correctly match the intersection?
2. Does MapPoint 2010 import and match intersections better than 2006?
Thanks,
Steve
