Re: Problems with "B" postcodes

Is it possible to post up some data records for which the problem occurs and I'll see what happens when I run them through my copy of MPE2009. I tried some random records for B,BA, BS and BN and it seemed to plot them ok.

Re: Problems with "B" postcodes

Hi David,

I have attached some sample data. Please let me know if you have the same problem.

Also, another thing, do you know how to change the "background" colour of non-included post areas from the greyish colour to white?

Thanks for your help
Cheers,
Lewis

Re: Problems with "B" postcodes

I've plotted out your data and everything looks fine. I assumed the data was for postcode districts so I interpreted your first 2 records for example as:

POSTTOWN,final post area,Penetration
ST. ALBANS,AL1,51%
HATFIELD,AL10,75%
etc

Only blip was that CR9 and CT50 don't exist. Anyway I've plotted a shaded map of your data at postcode district level and as I say everything is looking ok. Let me know if I've misinterpreted anything and what is the exact problem you're finding.

I don't think it's possible to assign white to empty areas. The only way I know of assigning a colour using the package (as opposed to code) is to plot one shaded map on top of another and that leaves a choice of colours for empty areas of green, purple, red, orange, maroon, brown or a different shade of grey.
