| problems with reading in excel files in Mappoint 2006 I have a question regarding the reading-in of excel files in MapPoint 2006.I have been encountering a problem here  n some occasions Mappoint refuses to read(and display) all the columns in the excel file in the import data wizard, while on other occasions it reads in the entire file. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?Murali         |

Can you post an example where it does not read all the column names? I am wondering if there is an empty column. When MapPoint sees an empty column maybe it stops looking for additional columns.. ?

Hi Eric, I have about 14 different columns in my dataset, none of which are empty(though they do have some missing values).What is puzzling to me is that sometimes it manages to read all of the columns in, but ignores abt half of the columns at other times. Murali |

I wonder if there is some column name that is causing it to react, or something else. Have you been able to isolate the problem? Can you post it or a sample? Eric

Hi Eric, i was able to solve the problem by converting the file from the xls to the csv format and then reading it in to MapPoint, which now seems to recognize the full dataset.thanks for ur help. Murali |
